Xu Yufang, Vice President


Xu Yufang holds a Doctor’s degree in Engineering, and is a professor and doctoral supervisor. She is currently Vice President of Shanghai Polytechnic University, Deputy Director of Shanghai Youth Committee of Jiusan Society, and member of CPPCC Shanghai Committee. 


She has served as Vice Dean and Executive Vice Dean of School of Pharmacy, East China University of Science and Technology, and Deputy Director (temporary post) of Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park Management Committee. She is an expert entitled to special allowances of the State Council, and has been awarded as Outstanding Academic Leader in Shanghai, Woman Pace-Setter in Shanghai and National Advanced Individual of Jiusan Society. 


Her major research field is chemical biotechnology, including fluorescence sensing technology, and cell activation and control technology. She has presided over and undertaken programs of National Natural Foundation, national significant new medicine research and development, 973 and 863 sub-projects and etc. She has published more than 150 academic papers on the SCI journals such as J. Am. Chem. Soc. and Angew. Chem. Int., and the papers have been quoted by others for nearly 2,500 times. One of her papers published on JACS was listed as one of “Top 100 Most Influential International Academic Papers in China in 2009”. She has applied for 59 patents for invention, and 29 of them have been authorized, including six PCT patents authorized by the USA and EU. Her doctoral students have been awarded the honors such as “Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation of Shanghai” and “National Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Nomination”.
