Research Team


(1) Institute of Policy and Regulations

 Under the leadership of Professor Wang Li, chief expert employed byWEEE Centre, this team is composed of seven members including chief experts Tang Aijun, Zha Ping, andArmin Kienle, in which two are professors, two associate professors, one senior engineer, one lecturer, and one economist. The research task of this team mainly includes researches on domestic and foreign electronic waste management laws and regulations, compilation of decision-making report and construction and management  of database, theoretical research of clean production technology, domestic and overseas clean technology information exchange and release, new technology promotion and transformation, technical consultation for enterprises, high-end forum organization, talents training, and publication of professional periodicals and bulletins and etc.


(2) Life Cycle Management Institute

Under the leadership of researcher Yang Jianxin, chief expert employed byWEEE Centre, this team is composed of six members includingtwo professors, three associate professors and one lecturer. The research task of this team mainly includes researches on reverse logistics of e-waste, environmental risk evaluation, Internet of Things management, life cycle assessment (LCA), technical research and development of carbon footprint accounting and clean production process diagnosis, optimized design construction of circular economy, indicator system, technology integration, and regional demonstration and etc.


(3) Recycling Technology Institute

Under the leadership of professor Eric Forssberg, chief expert employed byWEEE Centre, this team is composed of nine members including chief experts Qian Guangren, Li Dengxin, andWang Jingwei, in which, three are professors, five associate professors and one senior engineer. The research task of this team mainly includes researches on electronic waste recycling technology (like rare metal extraction, organic material recovery, and direct materialization), basic and advanced recycling technology research on dangerous, forbidden, toxic and harmful substances and parts, application design and consultation of site selection and design demonstration of the state and enterprises, pollution control technology and environmental harm recovery technology in electronic waste recovery industry and etc.


(4) Institute of Process Equipment

Under the leadership of professor Li Guangming, chief expert employed byWEEE Centre, this team is composed of eleven members including chief experts Xu Zhenming and Cao Ke, in which, five are professors, two associate professors, one senior engineer, two lecturers, and one teaching assistant. The research task of this team mainly includes research and development of complete set of equipment with complete intellectual property right and meeting China’s national condition, full-set equipment and facilities of low-value materials in e-waste, hazardous materials and rare materials of electronic waste, green and in-depth dismantling technology equipment and operating system, technology equipment and system as well as operation system of high-efficient crushing, and material identification and separation and etc.


(5) Green Design & Manufacturing Research Institute

Under the leadership of Professor Li Jinhui, chief expert employed byWEEE Centre, this team is composed of seven members including chief experts Yang Jingzeng and Zhao Xin, in which, one is professor, three associate professors, and three senior engineers. The research task of this team mainly includes researches on theory and methodology of electronic waste remanufacturing technology, special equipment and tools for electronic waste remanufacturing, green design criteria, design methods, design tools and design codes of electronic products, alternative methods of forbidden/limited substances at home and abroad, green supply chain management system of electronic products, establishment of data systems of material information, dismantling information, and recovering information to realize the information exchange and feedback of electronic waste treatment and electronic product manufacturing and etc.
