The Design Challenge Competition China 2017 which was organized by IMechE and assisted by University of Bolton was held in our university on 24th, May. Doctor David Ball, the Chairman of IMechE, Professor Zhou Erping and Mr. Martin Sinclari (senior lecturer) from University of Bolton attended in this event. Xu Yufang, the Vice-President of our university made a welcome speed in the opening ceremony, and Xu Haiping, Director of Academic Affairs, Qiao Liqing, Director of International Office, Cao Jianqing, the Director of College of Engineering also attended this ceremony. Our participating team was led by Tian Haobin, the Director of Department of Mechanical Engineering of College of Engineering.

The“IMechE Engineering Design Challenge”has been successfully held for ten times, aiming to train the innovation thought of students and lead the engineering students to sharpen their wits and excite their imagination and creativity. This challenge is the third session in China region, and 14 teams from 7 universities joined in. The College of Engineering of our university assigned two teams. In fierce competition, our two teams gained excellence award and best poster award.
