SSPU Council Meeting 2017 Held

    On the afternoon of Sept. 28, SSPU Council Meeting 2017 was held in the lecture hall of Academic Exchange Center. The council members, guests of global partners, SSPU leaders Yu Tao, Zou Longfei, Xu Yufa, heads of departments, offices, teaching and research units, representatives of teachers and students, etc., attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by alumnus Bao Qifan, a famous model worker and the Chairman of the Council.

    President Yu Tao made a welcome speech and the 2017 annual report of the Council. He reported the main work of the university and the Council in the last year and the thinking of running a Chinese-foreign cooperative school with SSPU as the Chinese cooperator. President Yu Tao said the reform and development of the university could not be carried out without thecouncil members' concern and support. He thanked all the council members for the great contribution they had made. He expected that the exchanges and cooperation with the institutions where the council members work can be deepened and that related agreements shall be implemented.



   

     Witnessed by the members of the council, the online course platform of Shanghai Polytechnic University was formally launched. President Yu Tao, general manager Que Chao, the founder of Chaoxing Group, Mr. Thomas Stone, President ofInstitute of Technology Tallaght, Ireland, and Mr. Petri Raivo,President of Karelia University of Applied Sciences, Finland, launched "the Online Course Platform of Shanghai Polytechnic University". It is a cross-border, joint building and resource sharing online course platform which was put forward by President Yu Tao and the partner universities during Global Partnership Week 2016.

    The meeting deliberated and passed the recommendation of new council members. Chairman Bao Qifan awarded the certificate of "Council Member of Shanghai Polytechnic University" to Paul Wilson, General Manager of TAFE Queensland, Australia.


    

    The council members and the representatives of global partners discussed about the university’s reform, development and other relevant issues at the meeting as well.
