Chair Song Baoru Meets with Delegation of Osaka City University

On the morning of May 17, delegation headed by Akihiro Odanaka, Vice President (International Affairs) of Osaka City University (OCU), visited SSPU. Song Baoru,Chair of University Administration Committee, met with the delegation. Rina Matsuki, Director of International Office of OCU, Professor Ma Lizhong, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Japanese Study & Communication and part-time professor of Japanese at SSPU, and Zhang Jin, former official of International Office of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, were in the delegation.


Chair Song warmly welcomed the delegation. He gave a detailed introduction to SSPU from three aspects – university overview, international exchange and cooperation prospect, briefing the aspects of the development history, orientation, teaching and research and international cooperation. Chair Song expressed his gratitude to Vice President Odanaka’s active promotion of the cooperation between the two sides. He stated that since the delegation of SSPU visited OCU in 2015, mutual understanding has been deepened and a solid foundation for cooperation has been laid. He hoped the two universities could keep close contact, make cooperation plans together to further develop comprehensive international exchange and collaboration. 


Vice President Odanaka said that since Osaka and Shanghai are sister cities, OCU and SSPU have established friendly cooperative relations based on mutual trust and mutual benefits. He also believes that the cooperation between the two sides will come to fruition by joint efforts. 



The two sides discussed and reached a consensus on student and teacher exchange, joint research, and academic exchange. The delegation visited School of Applied Arts and Design and Smart Manufacturing Factory Lab, and met with teachers and students of Japanese major of College of Arts and Sciences. 


Heads and teachers of Office of the Party Committee, International Office, College of Arts and Sciences, School of International Exchange (Office of International Student Affairs) attended the activities.
