Delegation Headed by Chair Song Baoru Visits Universities in America and Canada

From May 23 to May 30, delegation of SSPU headed by Chair Song Baoru visited Monmouth University in the U.S. and Trent University in Canada. SSPU and the two universities had discussions on further cooperation and new cooperative areas and made some consensuses.

   

On May 24, the delegation visited Monmouth University in the U.S. and warmly welcomed byGrey.Dimenna Esq., President of Monmouth University. Dr. Laura J. Moriarity, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Michael Palladino, Vice Provost for Graduate Studies and Professor of Biology, and Dr. Steven Bachrach, Dean of School of Science, and Professor of Chemistry, attended the meeting. Both sides respectively introduced the development of both universities since the signing of Memorandum of Understanding three years ago, discussed and reached a consensus on cooperative programs, student exchange and teacher visiting programs. President Grey.Dimenna Esq. expressed the intention of further collaboration on post-graduate cultivation in the field of Business. Chair Song stated that the two sides have established a solid foundation through leader and teacher exchange, and wished for a broader cooperation by deepening and specifying cooperative programs. Meanwhile, Chair Song invited President Grey.Dimenna Esq. to attend the Global Partnership Week at SSPU this year. After the meeting, the delegation had a campus tour at Monmouth University.

   


On May 29, the delegation visited Trent University in Canada.Dr. Jacqueline Muldoon, Vice President and Provost for Academic Affairs, Cath D'Amico, Director of International Office, John Knight, Manager of Research Office of Corporate Research Partnerships, Dr. Richard Hurley, Chair and Full Professor of the Computing and Information Systems Program, and Dr. Hayla Evans, Business Manager in the Water Quality Centre, had a conversation with the delegation.



After the meeting, Chair Song and Vice President Jacqueline Muldoonsigned a Memorandum of Understanding. The two sides will have a further discussion on specific cooperative programs. The delegation also had a campus tour at the University and a lab tour to water processing labs and computer labs.
