To promote the exchange and cooperation among research groups of major projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, the youth talent academic forum of the project “Fundamental Researches of Energy Transfer and Conversion in Solar Energy Utilization” was held from June 21 to June 23 at SSPU. Over 40 participants including 4 group leaders and other major researchers attended the meeting. Leader of research group II Xie Huaqing, Vice President of SSPU, presided over the forum.

On the forum, Xuan Yimin briefed research background and main task of the Project. He stated that the successful development of the major project of National Natural Science Foundation of China could not have been achieved without these youth academic backbones, and hoped that the implementation of the Project could reserve more talents in the field of solar energy utilization. The forum focused on four subjects, including 27 thematic reports. The four subjects were High-efficiency full-spectrum solar energy trapping and absorption, Energy transport, Conversion and Control Methods of Solar Energy, Mechanisms and Methods for Cascaded Utilization of the Full Solar Spectrum and the Full Spectrum Solar Energy Utilization System and Integrated Design Methods. Experts made an in-depth comment on each report, pinpointed possible loopholes and discussed with the youth talents on solutions for problems existed in research phases.

During the forum, attending experts and youth talents visited the Analysis and Test Center of School of Environmental and Material Engineering of College of Engineering, and the International Joint Research Center for Thermal Functional Materials.
