From Oct. 22 to Oct. 26,Erasmus + Sustainable Learner-Centered Teaching —— Advanced Resource for Georgia and China (Erasmus+ STAR) project Interim Conference was held at Lingnan Normal University in Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province. Representatives from Czech Republic, Denmark, Portugal, Bulgaria, Georgia and China attended the conference and gave keynote speeches. SSPU delegation headed by Qiao Liqing, Director of International Office, and Yang Jinghui, Professor from College of Engineering participated in the conference.
On the meeting, foreign experts introduced Erasmus+ STAR project and Continuous Professional Development (CPD), underlining the importance of promoting learner-centered teaching in higher education institutions (HEI) in both China and Georgia, and establishing effective self-assessment and quality monitoring system to improve teaching quality thus meeting the demand of high-quality talents in labor market. Chinese scholars also delivered speeches on teaching methods and capability, students’ active learning ability and practical cases analysis.
Based on the online training, the face-to-face training was carried out by means of discussion and conversation, thematic speeches, and interaction with each other. By experiencing the learner-centered teaching mode, the trainees could better understand, apply and promote this method.
Erasmus+ STAR project, jointly applied by SSPU, Masaryk University, Czech Republic, and University of Coimbra, Portugal, etc. got approved in 2016 with a funding of 65605 Euros.
