SSPU Program Approved as Key Project of Solid Waste Recycling under National Key R&D Program of China

Recently, the list of key projects of Solid Waste Recycling 2018 under National Key R&D Program of China was released. The joint programthe Non-destructive Dismantling and Safe Reusing of Waste Mobile Terminalsapplied by SSPU and other 10 institutions including China National Electric Apparatus Research Institute Co., Ltd. got approved by Ministry of Science and Technology with a funding of 56,080,000 RMB. The program is made up of 5 subjects in which SSPU’s Shanghai Cooperative Center for WEEE Recycling (WEEE Center) undertakes 2 subjects respectively led by Prof. Wang Jingwei and Prof. Zhang Chenglong.

  

The program, valid from December 2018 to November 2021, is mainly facing such problem as the scale-up and safe reusing with high value of waste mobile terminals, and to tackle problems of key technology and equipment for image identification of the complete machines and the components. It is expected to produce a set of integration technology, 9 core equipment, 3 standards and 13 patent applications and become a large-scale model project based on an Internet+recycling system to provide scientific and technological support for the industry development of electronic waste recycling.
