On the afternoon of Sept. 28, 2019 SSPU Council Meeting was held at Academic Exchange Center. SSPU Council members, participants of Global Partnership Week, SSPU leaders Wu Song, Yu Tao, Mo Liangjin, Xu Yufa, Xie Huaqing, Xu Yufang, heads of administrative offices, colleges and schools, teacher and student representatives attended the meeting. President Yu Tao presided over the meeting.

Wu Song, Party Secretary of SSPU Party Committee delivered the welcome speech. He said that over the past 5 years since the founding of SSPU Council, the council members have fulfilled their responsibilities and offered advice and suggestions, playing an active role in strengthening the relations between the university and the society, enhancing democracy on decisions, gaining support and accepting supervision from the society.

President Yu Tao gave the work report of SSPU for academic year 2018-2019 and put forward the prospect of SSPU development. The university, with the support of the new council members, will continue to stick to its orientation ofProfession-Oriented Higher Education, solve problems in reform, overcome difficulties in development, and endeavor to realize the goal of becoming a high-level multidisciplinary university of applied sciences.

On the meeting, Yu Guosheng, Vice Chairman of SSPU Council delivered the work report of SSPU Council (2014-2019). SSPU Vice President Xie Huaqing, also Secretary General of SSPU Council Secretary Office, declared the amendments of Constitution of SSPU Council, reelection of SSPU Council, and decision on the establishment of SSPU Council (2019-2024). The Council Meeting reviewed and approved the revised Constitution of SSPU Council and the suggested list of council members (2019-2024).

Party Secretary Wu Song grants certificates to new Honorary Chairman Ma Dexiu. Honorary Chairman Ma Dexiu grants certificates to all new council members and delivers a speech.

All council members discussed and offered advice and suggestions to the setting of curriculum system, construction of university quality culture, development and talent cultivation of the program of Intelligent Manufacturing, further international cooperation and exchange, university-enterprise cooperation, etc.
