On the morning of July 4, Commencement 2020 was held at the stadium. SSPU leaders, heads of relevant departments and colleges (schools), teacher and graduate representatives attended the ceremony. The ceremony was broadcast live on SSPU’s official Weibo and WeChat accounts and other channels. 3507 graduates of 2020 joined in the commencement both online and offline. Vice President Mo Liangjin presided over the commencement.

President Yu Tao delivered a speech. On behalf of all the teachers and students, he extended warm congratulations to all graduates of 2020. He said that 2020 is China’s final push to realize the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and to achieve poverty alleviation. It is the year in which the whole country fight together against the pandemic. It is also SSPU’s 60th anniversary. Finishing university education and stepping into the society at this important time, the life of the graduates of 2020 is destined to be extraordinary. President Yu Tao also put forward his hope and expectations to all graduates.

Vice President Xu Yufang announced the decision of the Academic Degree Evaluation Committee of SSPU. Professor Yu Wei from College of Engineering as teacher representative, and Sun Jing from the School of Economics and Management as graduate representative delivered speeches.

Teachers and students listened to the feelings of the graduates who attended the ceremony online via live video connection. The ceremony connected Kang Zijian, graduate of Digital Media Technology from College of Engineering, who is working as an intern in Beijing, and Jin Xiaoning, graduate of Credit Management from School of Economics and Management, who is working in Wuhan and expressed warm care and congratulations to them from the University.

SSPU leaders issued diplomas and degree certificates to graduates and turned the tassels for bachelor and master graduates.
