SSPU Students and Teachers Win Prizes in the 1st Vocational Skills Competition of the People’s Republic of China

From Dec. 10 to 13, the 1st Vocational Skills Competition of the People’s Republic of China was held in Guangzhou. The competition, themed by “New Era, New Skill, New Dream”, consisting of 86 competing units and attracted 2557 contestants from all over the country. It is a comprehensive national vocational skills competition with the highest standard, the largest scale and the highest level in China. Chinese President Xi Jinping also sent a congratulation letter to this competition. He urged efforts to carry forward the spirit of model workers and craftsmanship and to foster more high-skilled talents and craftsmen. Premier Li Keqiang also highly praised the importance of the skilled workforce.

  

 

Two SSPU students from College of International Vocational Education stood out from the strict selection by Shanghai training base for the 46thWorld Skills Competition, and participated in the national competition on behalf of Shanghai. Student Liang Jun who’s from 2018 Web Development won the gold medal on Web Design and Development, and Yuan Ming, 2020 graduate of Web Development, won the bronze medal on Cloud Computing. The winning of the awards set a new record in SSPU’s history of participation in competitions at the same level. The two students were thus selected into the national team for the 46th World Skills Competition. If they have excellent performance in the following training, they are possible to have the opportunity to attend the 46th World Skills Competition on behalf of China in 2022.
