SSPU Students Win Prizes in First Round of Siemens Cup China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge

Recently, the First Round of Siemens Cup China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge came to an end. The Challenge is co-hosted by the National Chinese Automation Teaching Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education, Siemens Ltd. China, and China Simulation Federation. SSPU delegation of College of Engineering competed with over 800 teachers and students of 219 teams from 52 universities including Shanghai Jiaotong University and Tongji University, and eventually won 2 Special Prizes, 1 First Prize and 1 Third Prize. The graduate team guided by teacher He Cheng won the special prize in topic group. The undergraduate team led by teacher Hu Zhihua won 1 special prize and 1 first prize in sport system development group, and that instructed by teacher Wang Sujuan won the third prize in logic control design and development group. The team that won special prizes will attend the National Finale on behalf of universities in Shanghai in the end of August in Beijing.

   

Siemens Cup China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge is a Class A competition under the strategic framework signed by the Ministry of Education and Siemens. It was launched by Beijing University of Chemical Technology and Siemens in 2006 for engineering talents cultivation and selection in the field of Intelligent Manufacturing. The concept of the Challenge is to train new engineers with technological innovation, business awareness and humanistic literacy. The competition is featured by being a second class with competitiveness for the cultivation of new engineers who are capable in Intelligent Manufacturing.
