1. Background
Newton Researcher Links Workshops is co-funded by British Council and National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). It brings together early-career researchers from China and the UK to make international connections that can improve the quality of their research. This program is an important part of Newton Fund, a UK Government initiative funded by the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
2. Application
(1) The workshop shall be applied and implemented by senior researchers from both China and the UK.
(2) The minimum duration of a workshop is three (3) days. It can receive a fund covering a maximum 4-day accommodation and reception fee.
(3) The applicants shall organize 15 to 20 youth researchers to join in the workshop/
(4) Senior researchers from both China and the UK will be invited to serve as supervisors who should exchange experience in academic researches and achievements and establish a work relation with the youth researchers by means of reports, interactions, etc.
3. Funding and Timing of the Workshops
(1)Priority funding areas are, but not limited to, Health/Bioscience, Environmental Technology, Food and Water Safety, Energy, Urbanization, etc.
(2) Content: If the workshop takes place in China, the Chinese partner shall cover the reception fee for the participants from China and the UK, and the convention expense while the British partner shall bear the international travel costs of the British participants, and vice versa.
(3) Funding Budget: the funding for Chinese partners shall not exceed 150,000 RMB per program.
(4) Workshops must take place between January 2020 and December 2021.
4. ODA Requirement
The applied programs shall aim to take advantage of Sino-UK partnership to deal with global development challenges, especially the ones encountered in developing countries. Scan the following QR code for details.

5. Application Process
Both Chinese and British applicants shall jointly apply for one program (each applier should submit one application)
