Recently, the 14thNXP Cup National University Students Intelligent Car Race closed at Shandong University. SSPU Team Dolphin made up with 3 students guided by Professor Yang Guanqun won the second prize in outdoor photoelectric creativity group. The competition tests students’ comprehensive design abilities of software and hardware system, covering several disciplines and programs including automatic control, pattern recognition, sensor technology, electronic circuit, operation system, etc.

The competition is hosted by the National Advisory Committee on Teaching Automation in Higher Education under the Ministry of Education. It is 1 of 9 discipline contests for university students funded by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Finance.

Over 2,300 teams from 510 universities including Tsinghua University, Wuhan University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Tongji University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, etc. participated in different groups in local tryouts. And 80 outdoor photoelectric creativity groups were selected to attend the national final held in Weihai City, Shandong Province.
