Ding Bin, Vice President



Ding Bin, a professor and doctoral supervisor, holds a Doctor’s degree in Engineering. He is currently Vice President of Shanghai Polytechnic University.


Prof. Ding got his Bachelor’s Degree from Northeast Normal University, China, Master’s Degree from Chonbuk National University, South Korea, and Ph.D. from Keio University, Japan, and worked as Postdoctoral Fellow in University of California, Davis, USA. In 2008, Prof. Ding started to work in Donghua University and has successively taken positions as Vice Dean of College of Textiles, Vice Director of Innovation Center for Textile Science and Technology and Dean of Science and Technology Research Institute.


Prof. Ding has been engaged in the fundamental research and research on industrial application of multifunctionalities of micro/nanofibrous materials. The honors he has received include Outstanding Young Scholars from the National Science and Technology Foundation of China, Distinguished Professor of the Changjiang Scholars Program of the Ministry of Education, Leading Talents in Science and Technology Innovation under the National Ten Thousand Talents Plan, etc. He is also the State Council Special Allowance Expert and a Highly Cited Researcher selected by Elsevier. He has authored and co-authored over 500 SCI journal papers published on journals such as Adv. Mater.Nat. Commun.Sci. Adv., etc. His entire publications have been cited for over 37000 times with H-index of 117 and he has held over 200 approved patents. He is also the editor of J. Text. Inst. and a member of editorial board of Engineering. He has received over 10 awards including Distinguished Achievement Award of the Fiber Society, USA, First Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology (Invention) Award, Second Prize of Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education, First Prize for Technological Invention and First Prize for Advancement in Science and Technology of China National Textile and Apparel Council.
