SSPU Delegation Visit Universities in U.S.

From March 10 to 15, SSPU delegation headed by President Yu Tao visited the American universities including Broward College (BC), Arizona State University (ASU) and Northern Arizona University (NAU). The delegation had a deep conversation on the exchanges and cooperation with each university, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ASU.

  

On March 11, the delegation visited BC and received a warm welcome from Gregory Adam Haile, President of BC, David Moore, Executive Director of BC, and heads of relevant departments. The two sides reviewed the development and achievements of the joint programs, and exchanged ideas about applied talent cultivation, cooperation and exchange, new program exploration, etc. Both universities agreed to further promote collaboration by giving full play to each other’s advantage since a solid cooperation foundation has been laid with joint efforts. In addition, President Yu sincerely invited President Haile to attend 2019 graduation ceremony of the joint programs and SSPU Global Partnership Week 2019.During the visit, the delegation also met with Jiang Zhennan, SSPU student studying for bachelor degree at BC. He is the first SSPU student being awarded BC Scholarship.

  

 

On the afternoon of March 11, President Yu met with Michael Crow, President of ASU, and Doug Becker, Founder and Chairman of Sterling Education Development Group (Sterling Group) in Washington. On behalf of SSPU and ASU, Presidents of both universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding. On the meeting, President Yu introduced SSPU’s development and basic information, the education concept of Profession-Oriented Higher Education and its internationalization strategy, and elaborated the thoughts and plans on the joint education program. He also expressed gratitude to Mr. Becker for pushing forward the development of the joint program. President Crow briefed on the current development of ASU as well. The two universities discussed on the application of the joint education program and further cooperation, and reached a consensus.
