The“Creation Cup”competition which was supported by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and Shanghai Creation Academy was held in University of Shanghai for Science and Technology on November, 12.“Houji Team”composed of Yang Shengu, Wang Yan, Hao Yudong, Li Tao and Li Chao joined this competition, and this team was led by Mr. Jiang Guoping from College of Engineering. Prof. Liu Ping and Prof. Tian Hao from College of Engineering were invited to serve as judges, and Dong Jinlong, the Deputy Secretary of CPC of College of Engineering as the member of competition committee.

The competition attracted 67 teams from 15 universities. And the works of our“Houji Team”---”Design and Manufacturing of Auxiliary Firefighting Device”won first prize. All judges thought that this highly innovative works is not only a wearable and practicable robot which integrates the mechanical, controllable and testable function together, but also has certain research depth. Sang Biao, the Director of Higher Education Department of Shanghai Board of Education also highly affirmed this works, and asked the questions about the difficulties encountered in manufacturing and usual research situations. 

Under the great support of university and College of Engineering, Yang Shengu and other players prepared for the competition as early as in summer holiday, and proposed design idea and technology method. The players looked up lots of documents in their spare time and put forward innovative ideas on the basis of careful study, and finally took four and half months to finish this competition. And the Prof. He Yuan carefully guided them during the preparation. 

Such good achievement won by“Houji Team”not only is the honor for university, but also reflects that our university focuses on innovation education.
