From May 8 to May 9, delegation of SSPU headed by President Yu Tao attended World Conference 2018 of Broward College (BC) at the invitation of BC President J. David Armstrong, Jr. The Conference is an important platform for the communication of global partners of BC. More than 70 representatives of over 30 institutions from nearly 20 countries, including the U.S., Peru, the U.K., Spain, India and China, attended the Conference with an unprecedented scale.
On May 8, President Yu was invited as a special guest to attend 2018 graduation ceremony of BC, which was the first primary activity of the Conference. Jiang Zhennan, student from class 01 of 2015 of College of International Vocational Education, accepted the diploma on stage on behalf of the first batch of graduates of Sino-US Joint Education Program. The programs of Supply Chain Management Operations and Web Development at vocational education level began enrollment since 2015 and the studentsgraduated in 2018.
On May 9, President Yu met with President J. David Armstrong, Jr. President Yu spoke highly of the achievements gained by the internationalization of BC and expressed congratulations on the success of the Conference. Both sides agreed that a steady and substantial cooperative foundation had been established with long-term joint effort. In the future, both sides will move forward together by giving full play to advantages of each other and further promote and broaden cooperation, adding a new chapter to the international collaboration of the two sides.
President Yu also met with Jiang Zhennan, asking about his life and study in the U.S., encouraged him to seize the opportunity and wished him a bright future. Jiang Zhennan is the first student at SSPU to win the scholarship of BC, and will begin his study for bachelor degree at BC from this May.
The delegation attended other relevant activities of the Conference as well. Zhang Jun, Dean of College of International Vocational Education, and Qu Lili, Deputy Director of International Office, were in the delegation.
