From Oct. 9 to Oct. 16, SSPU delegation headed by Zou Longfei, Deputy Secretary of SSPU Party Committee, visited University of Bolton and University of Plymouth in Britain, and Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) in Ireland. The delegation discussed about further cooperation with above universities.
On Oct. 10, the delegation visited University of Bolton and was warmly welcomed by Dr. Zubair Hanslot, Provost of the University, and relevant personnel. Both sides had a discussion and agreed to collaborate in the fields of Art and Design, and Business and Management in addition to that of Engineering, possibly in the form of joint institution. During the visit, the delegation also met with SSPU students who are currently studying for double Bachelor degrees and for Master degree.
On Oct. 11, the delegation visited University of Plymouth. Prof. Simon Payne, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International & Planning), heads of each school and International Affairs Office welcomed the delegation. The two sides discussed and reached consensus on the cooperation in the fields of Engineering, Design, Logistics, Supply Chain, Statistics, etc. by means of student exchange, double-degree program, pathway from Bachelor to Master’s degree, Ph.D. cultivation, and joint research. Deputy Secretary Zou Longfei on behalf of SSPU signed Memorandum of Understanding and articulation agreement of program of Logistics.
On Oct. 14, the delegation visited TU Dublin. In the morning at Tallaght campus, Principal Prof. Thomas Stone and heads of relevant schools and departments welcomed the delegation. Both universities had an in-depth discussion on further cooperation in Engineering. In the afternoon, the delegation visited TU Dublin‘s Bolton St. and Grangegorman campuses, visited Product Design labs and the main campus which is under construction, and had a conversation about collaboration. At Grangegorman campus, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. David FitzPatrick, President of TU Dublin. During the visit, the delegation also met with SSPU students of Electronic Information Engineering studying for double degree program at TU Dublin.
Representatives of International Office, College of Engineering, College of Arts and Sciences, School of Applied Arts and Design were in the delegation.
