Recently, the Ministry of Education released the list of 2021 National and Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Programs among which 9 programs of SSPU got approved. As of now, there are 18 national and provincial first-class undergraduate programs at SSPU.

In 2019, the MOE launched the Double Ten Thousand Plan, a first-class undergraduate program construction project that aims to build around 10,000 first-class undergraduate programs at national level and another 10,000 at provincial level from 2019 to 2021. Closely focusing on improving the ability of talent training in an all-round way, SSPU has built a three-level (national, provincial and university levels) training system to reinforce the top-level design for talent training and push forward the development of first-class undergraduate education.
