On the morning of July 8, the preparatory meeting of 2022 Cross-Straits Conference on Technical and Vocational Higher Education was held online. The meeting was convened by Beijing Union University. The attendees included university leaders and representatives from the initiating universities and cooperative universities including Shanghai Polytechnic University (SSPU), Beijing Union University (BUU), Shenzhen Polytechnic (SZPT), Chienkuo Technology University (CTU), Lunghwa University of Science and Technology (LHU), and Chaoyang University of Technology (CYUT). Mr. Ding Li, SSPU Vice President, and Ms. Qiao Liqing, Director of Office for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs attended the meeting. Mr. Guo Fu, President of BUU, presided over the meeting.

Mr. Zhang Enxiang, Vice President of BUU introduced the plan of the 2022 Cross-Straits Conference on Technical and Vocational Higher Education. The attendees discussed related matters and decided to hold the Conference online on Dec. 16 this year. The Conference will be made up of the opening ceremony, themed reports, academic seminar, student competition, closing ceremony and so on. Vice President Ding Li spoke on behalf of SSPU. He said that SSPU fully supports the Conference and will actively make preparations for it.

Cross-Straits Conference on Technical and Vocational Higher Education, initiated by four universities across the Straits in 1999 including SSPU,SZPT, BUU and Taipei Tech, has been held for 22 consecutive years. According to the rule of the conference, the 23rd Cross-Straits Conference on Technical and Vocational Higher Education will be organized by Beijing Union University in 2022.
