On the morning of April 28, the signing ceremony of university-enterprise cooperation between SSPU School of Applied Arts and Design and Shanghai Fashion Center as well as the opening ceremony of“FashionArt Design”Exhibition, a design works exhibition of young teachers and students, were held at Shanghai Fashion Center. Nearly 100 teachers, students andenterprise representatives attended the activity.

Industry-education integration and university-enterprise cooperation are not only the important means to pushforward the training of applied innovative design talents in universities, but also a source for innovative development of the enterprises. SSPU School ofApplied Arts and Design jointly established the“Fashion Art Design”innovative design and creation incubation platform with Shanghai Fashion Center. Based on Shanghai’s construction objective to become a world city of design and city of fashion, the two sides have reached consensus on strategic university-enterprise cooperation and will carry out cooperation in integration of design and fashion, cultural and technological innovation, collaboration of art and business and so on. The cooperation will contribute to the training of high level applied innovative design talents and the prosperous development of the fashion industry in Shanghai.

Mr. Shen Fa, Dean of School of Applied Arts and Design, and Ms. Wang Lu, General Manager of Shanghai Fashion Center, respectively delivered a speech. 

On the ceremony, School of Applied Arts and Design and Shanghai Fashion Center signed agreements on social practice base for college students and postgraduate professional practice.

Mr. Lin Junting, the special guest of this activity, who is a famous new media artist and the Artistic Director of Bluephoenix NewMedia Arts, delivered a speech themed by Integrationand Innovation of Digital Art in the Future,and shared ideas on the development and trend of the combination of digital media art and space.

After the signing ceremony, the present guests, teachers and students enjoyed the “Fashion Art Design”Exhibition that displayed works in various fields like product design, visual communication design, environmental design, digital media art, industrial design, glass art, ceramicart, interactive installations, etc., showing SSPU teachers and students’achievements in design and creation in recent years.

Heads of SSPU Academic Affairs Office, Graduate Affairs Office, and School of Applied Arts and Design attended the activity as well.
