Delegation of Bulgaria South-West University "Neofit Rilski" Visits SSPU

On June 1, delegation of South-West University "Neofit Rilski" (SWU), Bulgaria, led by President Borislav Yurukov visited SSPU. The delegation also included Ms. Ivanka Stankova, Vice Rector for Research and PhD Development, Mr. Hristo Dimitrov, Erasmus+ Coordinator, and Mr. Petar Yurukov, a postdoctoral studentof SWU. SSPU President Xie Huaqing met with the guests at the Academic Exchange Center.




President Xie firstly expressed warm welcome to the delegation. He said that China and Bulgaria have forged an enduring friendship and have kept close and friendly educational and cultural exchange and cooperation. SSPU always insists on implementing the strategy of internationalization and has built deep friendship with universities in countries along the Belt and Road. The President hopes the two sides further deepen mutual understanding, carry out the cooperation according to the schedule, and further explore cooperation in joint education of doctoral students, joint international projects and joint labs, etc. It is believed that by deepening the cooperation between the two universities and exploring more fields of collaboration, the cooperation between the two sides will have a broad prospect.


President Borislav Yurukov expressed gratitude for the invitation and hospitality of SSPU. He said both universities are nowpushing forward the steady cooperation toward the right direction under the framework of the MOU and Erasmus+ KA1 Mobility Agreement signed before. President Yurukov hopes that the two sides will deepen communication, firmly promotevarious collaborations step by step and explore more possibilities.


The two universities discussed and reached consensuses on cooperation in double degree Master’s programs in Education,Materials and Chemical Engineering and International Business, joint educationof doctoral students, teacher mobility, student exchange, joint research and joint international projects, etc.




During the visit, the delegation and SSPU International Office held a meeting related to the Erasmus+ project, and had a meeting with representatives from International Office and relevant schools oncooperation of joint education of Master and PhD students. The guests also visited several teaching and research venues including the Engineering Training and Innovation Education Center, labs in School of Energy and Materials and E-commerce labs.






Heads and representatives from SSPU international Office, School of Energyand Materials, School of Economics and Management, Vocational & Technical Teacher Education School also attended the activities above.
