Delegation of Seneca Polytechnic Visits SSPU

On the afternoon of December 13, the delegation of Seneca Polytechnic (Seneca) led by President David Agnew visited SSPU. The delegation included Nick Huang, Director of Regional Business Development (East and South East Asia), Maggie Chen, Business Development Manager of China (Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau) and Yuki Liang, Business Development Officer of China office. SSPU President Xie Huaqing met with the guests at the Academic Exchange Center.

President Xie firstly welcomed the delegation. He said that SSPU and Seneca share the common educational philosophy. Both universities adhere to the cultivation of application-oriented talents and the programs of the two universities are highly matched. This provides a solid foundation for the cooperation between the two universities. Through close communications in the early stage, both sides have enhanced mutual trust and understanding, and have formed a preliminary consensus on the modes and contents of cooperation. He hoped both universities continue to strengthen exchanges and give full play to their respective advantages to push forward various cooperation on the basis of the signing of the MOU, and keep deepening and expanding cooperation in a wider range of fields.

The two universities had an in-depth discussion and reached consensuses on the signing of the MOU and collaborations in faculty exchange and training, student exchanges, Bachelor’s and Master's degree programs, short-term student programs, joint scientific researches in the areas of computer science, environmental engineering, economics and management and education. Heads and representatives from SSPU International Office, School of Computer and Information Engineering, School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, School of Economics and Management, Vocational & Technical Teacher Education School, School of International Exchange (Office of International Student Affairs) attended the meeting.

During the visit, the delegation also visited Smart Manufacturing Factory Lab and Engineering Training and Innovation Education Center, and communicated with relevant faculty in charge.
