Delegation of TU Dublin Visit SSPU

On the morning of June 26, the delegation of Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin), Ireland, led by Thomas Stone, Vice President for Partnerships,visited SSPU. The delegation included James Wright, Head of Discipline (Electronic Engineering) of School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering,John Behan, Head of Discipline (BioPharmaceutical Science) of School of Chemical & BioPharmaceutical Sciences, and Bei Gao, Senior Strategic Partnerships & Alliances Manager. SSPU Vice President Wu Peidong met with the guests.

 


Wu Peidong welcomed Vice President Thomas Stone and his delegation for visiting SSPU. He said that since the cooperation between SSPU and TU Dublin began in 2016, the two universities have carried out in-depth cooperation in foreign expert program, teacher training, mutual student exchange, teaching and academic exchanges, etc. It is hoped that both sides could take this visit as an opportunity to deepen the exchanges and cooperation and jointly promote the steady development of collaboration in various fields.

 

Thomas Stone expressed gratitude to SSPU for the warm welcome and introduced the history of TU Dublin, the University’s orientation, discipline structure and international exchanges. He said that TU Dublin would like to maintain close communication with SSPU to implement the cooperation together, and expected that the collaboration would gain fruitful results.


The two sides discussed and reached consensuses on Bachelor and Master’s double degree programs in Computer Science and Business, “Chinese +” programs, student exchange programs, summer school, faculty exchanges, and the possibility of Chinese-foreign cooperative-run educational projects. Heads of SSPU International Office, School of Computer and Information Engineering, School of Economics and Management, Office of International Student Affairs, and School of International Education attended the meeting.


During the visit, the delegation visited the teaching and research places of School of Computer and Information Engineering and exchanged ideas with the relevant personnel.
