In his address, SSPU Vice President Bai Jianfeng welcomed the attending faculty, students and experts and highlighted the university’s achievements in disciplinary development, scientific innovation and talent cultivation. He noted that the Competition serves not only as an important platform for students to showcase their academic competence and practical skills, but also as a key promoter of the exchanges and cooperation in energy economics and supporter of green and low-carbon development.

Yang Jie, Director of the Higher Education Division of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, pointed out in his speech that the current international landscape has further underscored the importance of energy security and energy economics, and energy economics is rapidly evolving toward green and low-carbon solutions, digital intelligence, cross-disciplinary integration, and global governance. Shanghai will continue to serve the nation’s Dual Carbon strategy and the development of a new energy system, deepen its layout in energy economics, and promote sustainable urban development. The Competition has become a vital platform for cultivating innovative talents in energy economics.

Professor Wei Wendong from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Head of the Competition’s Shanghai Regional Organizing Committee, introduced this year’s Competition. He noted that the scale of participation in the Shanghai region has continued to expand, with increasing influence and reach.
