On the morning of October 23, Valerii Matiash, Vice Rector for Education, Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation (SUAI) and Aleksei Rabin, Director of Scientific Research Coordination Center of SUAI, visited SSPU. President Xie Huaqing met with the guests at the Academic Exchange Center.

President Xie firstly welcomed the guests to visit SSPU. He said that SUAI is a high level research university featuring strong competence and characteristics in lab construction and science and research. The two universities have high similarities in programs such as intelligent manufacturing and artificial intelligence and that lays a solid foundation for cooperation. Meanwhile, he expressed gratitude to SUAI Rector Yulia Antokhina for taking the position as one of the council members of SSPU Council since 2016 and having been giving valuable suggestions to the development of SSPU. He hoped both sides could have deeper communication, deepen and expand cooperation in various areas and bring the cooperation to a new level.

The two universities had an in-depth discussion and reached consensuses on the cooperation in joint research, foreign expert programs, joint labs, joint education of postgraduates, teacher and student exchange in the fields of intelligent manufacturing, new energy and new materials, etc. Heads and representatives from SSPU International Office, Research Administration Office, Graduate Affairs Office attended the meeting.

During the visit, the delegation also visited the Smart Manufacturing Factory Lab and Engineering Training and Innovation Education Center, and exchanged ideas with relevant personnel.
