From February 18 to 25, Lu Min, Secretary of SSPU Party Committee, led a delegation to visit Savonia University of Applied Sciences (Savonia UAS), Finland, Verein der China ServiceCenter Deutschland e.V. and Saxon University of Cooperative Education in Germany.

Savonia University of Applied Sciences in Finland is one of the important international strategic partners of SSPU. Since the establishment of the cooperation relationship between the two universities in 2011, both sides kept close cooperation in terms of high-level visits, program development, teacher training, academic cooperation, student exchange, etc. On February 20, the delegation participated in the International Staff Week held by Savonia UAS, during which they had a meeting with Rector Mervi Vidgren of Savonia UAS. Both sides had an in-depth communication on joint education, strategy of internationalization, joint research projects and postgraduate exchange, and expressed their good will to deepen the cooperation.

During the event, the delegation visited laboratories of environmental and water management, smart industry, green energy, and sustainable and circular economy in the School of Engineering and Technology. They also participated in a number of academic and scientific research seminars organized during the International Staff Week.

Verein der China ServiceCenter Deutschland e.V. is an officially registered association aiming at promoting and facilitating the international cooperation between German universities and colleges at all levels, scientific research institutes, industrial associations and various enterprises, especially the cooperation with China. On February 22, the delegation had a meeting with Mr. Yao Yujie, Director of Sino-German Center for Cultural Exchanges, discussing about the teaching mode of the German dual system, industry-university-research cooperation, teacher and student exchange, the joint cultivation of undergraduates, postgraduates and Ph.D. students, Overseas Student Practice Base, etc. The meeting preliminarily clarified the follow-up cooperation and mutual visits.

On February 23, the delegation had a meeting with President Andreas Hansel of Saxon University of Cooperative Education. Lu Min made a presentation on the orientation, industry-university-research cooperation, and the strategy of internationalization of SSPU. He said that the two universities share similar educational philosophies and development path. He believed that the successful experience of Saxon University of Cooperative Education will bring inspiration and reference for SSPU development and that he is full of confidence in the cooperation prospect between the two universities.

Heads of SSPU Office of Party Committee, International Office, Graduate Affairs Office and School of Resources and Environmental Engineering were in the delegation.
