Delegation of TUM Asia Visits SSPU

On the morning of November 14, the delegation of TUM Asia headed by Markus Waechter, Managing Director and also Chief Representative of the China Program, Technical University of Munich Asia (TUM Asia), Germany, visited SSPU. The delegation included Jonathan Lim, former Director of EnterpriseSG Global Innovation Alliance, Zhou Wei, Founder and CEO of XNode and others. Mr. Lu Min, Secretary of SSPU Party Committee, met with the guests at the Academic Exchange Center.




Mr. Lu Min firstly welcomed the delegation to visit SSPU. He introduced the history, characteristics, industry-university-institute cooperation of SSPU to the guests. He stated that SSPU and TUM Asia have common educational philosophy that is emphasizing close cooperation with enterprises and being committed to training applied talents. Therefore, the cooperation between the two sides has a sound foundation. He hoped that both universities keep deepening understanding and giving full play to their advantages to push forward collaboration in various fields together.


During the meeting, heads of SSPU International Office, Research Administration Office, Vocational & Technical Teacher Education School, College of International Vocational Education, Office of International Student Affairs (School of International Exchange) shared their ideas. Both universities had a discussion and reached certain consensus on two-way study and internship programs in Singapore and China, summer and winter camp, industry-university-institute cooperation, and technology achievements transfer.


The delegation also visited Smart Manufacturing Factory Lab and Engineering Training and Innovation Education Center during their visit.




Technical University of Munich Asia (TUM Asia) is the Asian campus of the Technical University of Munich. TUM Asia was set up in Singapore in 2002, under the Singapore government’s Global Schoolhouse Initiative. It is registered in Singapore as an Institute of Higher Learning.
