On the morning of Sept. 27, the opening ceremony of SSPU Global Partnership Week 2018 themed “University · Quality · Excellence” was held. Liu Jiangyuan, official of International Cooperation & Exchange Division of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and presidents, experts and representatives of 25 universities (institutions) from 15 countries and regions, SSPU leadership, heads of administrative offices, colleges and schools, teacher and student representatives attended the meeting. Vice President Mo Liangjin presided over the opening ceremony and the Forum.

Song Baoru, Secretary of the Party Committee of SSPU and Chairman of SSPU University Administration Committee gave the welcome speech and announced the opening of SSPU Global Partnership Week 2018. In his remark, Chairman Song warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and friends from all over the world and expressed heartfelt gratitude on the behalf of SSPU. After briefing on the University’s development in International cooperation over the past year, he said that SSPU always emphasizes the construction of university quality culture, and continuously improves the internal management system by raising teachers and students’ awareness of taking quality as priority by all means. He hoped the experts, scholars and representatives could share their opinions and suggestions on forming the quality culture and expected the Global Partnership Week can become a platform for all of them to jointly explore the reform, innovation and openness of education.

On the opening ceremony, witnessed by present guests and representatives, SSPU signed double-degree agreements in Environmental Engineering, and Environmental Protection Equipment Engineering with Karelia University of Applied Sciences, Finland, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Torrens University, Australia.

On the Forum, President Yu Tao, presidents, professors and experts from Portugal, Sweden, U.S.A., Ireland, Finland, Russia, the Netherlands, Australia, and Taiwan China made keynote speeches focusing on University · Quality · Excellence, and all shared the concepts, experience and distinctive measures of their universities or institutions concerning the theme.

During the Global Partnership Week 2018, there will be other activities including Program Day, Study Abroad Fair, SSPU Council Meeting, visit to SSPU cooperative enterprises, the lecture and performance on Chinese traditional culture, etc.
