SSPU Delegation Visit Universities and Institutions in Europe

From Oct. 10 to Oct. 19, SSPU delegation headed by President Yu Tao visited University of Applied Sciences, Europe, TechProtect GmbH, Germany, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano (NABA), Universidad Europea de Madrid (UEM). The delegation discussed about international exchange and cooperation programs with partner universities and enterprises and gained fruitful achievements.

  

University of Applied Sciences was an institution merged by Business and Information Technology School (BiTS) and BTK University of Art & Design (BTK) in 2017. It is featured by the cultivation of entrepreneurial talents. The university is one of SSPU’s new international cooperative partners in recent years. During the visit, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Stefan Stein, President of University of Applied Sciences, and heads of relevant departments. President Yu and President Stein briefly introduced the current situation and development of each university and had an in-depth conversation about further cooperation and development regarding programs such as Industrial Engineering.

  

 

TechProtect GmbH, founded in 2002, is famous in the industry for the second-handed sales, recovery, treatment, technological consultation and management of wasted electronic products. SSPU began teacher and student exchange, and cooperation on Sino-German WEEE Information Center with the company since 2008. Mr. Armin Kienle, head of TechProtect, warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced current business development of the company. President Yu expressed gratitude to TechProtect for providing support for teachers and students during their exchange. He also hoped that both sides could explore more effective programs. Consensus has been reached on further cooperation between the two sides.

  

 

In Italy, the delegation visited NABA. NABA, the largest private art and design school in Italy, is an art institution of creativity. SSPU delegation received a warm welcome from Malcolm Mclnnes, Chief Academic Officer of NABA, and other executives. Mr. Mclnnes briefed the history and current situation of NABA, especially the characteristics of serving local economy and closely connecting with industry and enterprises. During the visit, President Yu Tao had a phone call with Donato Medici, CEO of NABA, who is on business in Paris. President Yu gave details about SSPU’s basic information, schooling characteristics and the development strategy of internationalization of education. He expressed the intention of cooperation with NABA and more overseas universities. Both sides exchanged ideas on future collaboration in regard to the program of Design. After the meeting, the delegation visited labs and other teaching facilities of NABA’s strong disciplines and programs.

  

The delegation met with 5 students from SSPU School of Applied Art and Design who are studying in NABA for the 3+1 program. President Yu talked with the students about their study, and asked their suggestions to SSPU education and teaching modes.

  

 

Universidad Europea de Madrid is a member of Laureate International Universities which is the largest higher education group in the world. The university aims at providing full-scale professional education to train leaders and experts with solid professional skills and quick adaption to their job positions in order to contribute to social transformation. During the visit, Mr. Conrado Briceño, CEO of UEM, welcomed the delegation, and expected to form deep cooperation and exchange with SSPU. President Yu also had a conversation with Ms. Veronica Egido, head of School of Engineering, Architecture and Design, and Ms. Beatriz Martinez Pascual, Head of School of Physical Education. Both sides exchanged ideas about cooperation in Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product Design and Sports Operation and Management, and talked about teacher and student exchange and degree programs collaboration as well. 

  

Accompanied by staff from foreign affairs department, the delegation took a lab tour to School of Communication and School of Engineering, deeply impressed by its Learning by Doing teaching mode.
