Graduate Group Achieved Excellent Results in “Shenwu Cup” the 10th National College Students Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Social Practice & Science and Technology Competition

    The Final ofthe 10thNational College Students Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Social Practice & Science and Technology Competition was held successfully in North China Electric Power University recently. The competition was sponsored by Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education, jointly undertaken by Teaching Guidance Committee of Discipline of Energy and Power in Institutions of Higher Learning under the Ministry of Education and North China Electric Power University, and supported by Shenwu Group. Two projects ofSchool of Environmental and Materials Engineering of our university achieved excellent results in the competition.

Under the joint guidance of teacher Shen Jiaowen of SSPU and Prof. Yang Mo from University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, the group composed of seven students, graduates of 2016 Grade, Fan Dandan and Wu Hongcheng, who are majored in Environmental Engineering, and undergraduate of 2015 Grade, Ni Guilin, with other students from University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, won the Second Prize of Social Practice Investigation Works with their work “Why Has China not Yet Popularized Waste Classification -- A Case of Investigation, Analysis and Suggestions of Shanghai”. Under the joint guidance of associate professor Gao Guilan and associate professor Guo Yaoguang, the group composed of graduates of 2015 Grade majored in Environmental Engineering, He Xin, Xu Xin, Xiao Haiyang, Liu Meiling, Ji Jiawei and Li Wei, won the 3rd Prize of Scientific Works with their work “Study on Synergistic Treatment of Reductive Waste Water by Spent Anode Materials of Spent Lithium Ion Batteries”. The prizes have aroused the students’ innovation enthusiasm, promoted the research atmosphere for the graduate students and will play an active role in driving engineering students to improve their practical ability.
