Delegation of Torrens University Visits SSPU

On the morning of May 21, delegation headed by Mark Falvo, General Manager of Business, International & TULC, visited SSPU. Philip Fung, Director of International Engagement, Catherine O’Sullivan, Director of Industry Innovation Employment of Business and Education, Evelyn Chai, In-country Manager, and Jessie Teng, Area Manager (China)of Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School, were in the delegation. President Yu Tao and Vice President Xie Huaqing met with the delegation.

   

President Yu welcomed the delegation. He said that SSPU shared similar orientation with Torrens University. Both universities focused on the training of students’ practical ability and a close connection to the industry. SSPU has developed in-depth cooperation with Torrens University in the field of Media Design, and established collaboration with several universities of Laureate International Universities, laying a solid foundation for the further cooperation between the two sides. SSPU would like to develop deep exchanges and collaboration with Torrens University, making efforts to jointly train applied talents with a global vision. On the meeting, Vice President Xie Huaqing and Mr. Mark Falvo respectively introduced the two universities. Both sides discussed a lot about future cooperation. 



During the visit, accompanied by Vice President Xie, the delegation visited School of Applied Arts & Design, Smart Manufacturing Factory Lab and Engineering Training Center. Heads and teachers of International Office, Recruitment and Employment Office, School of Economics and Management, and School of International Exchange (Office of International Student Affairs) attended the activities. 



Torrens University is part of Laureate International Universities which has five campuses respectively in Brisbane, Sidney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Auckland. The University focuses on practical application and the cultivation of applied talents for the industry, offering undergraduate, master and doctor degree courses in Education, Management, Business, Hospitality Management and Creative Arts.
