In March 2022, 2022SSPUGlobal Partnership Weekwas successfully held. The events of the Global Partnership Week were held online through March this year, including Program Day and Academic Salon. 29 experts and representatives from 25 universities and institutions in 12 countries and regions, and domestic experts and scholars participated. SSPU Vice President Ding Li, heads of administrative departments and colleges and schools, teacher and student representatives attended relevant events.
Program Day is a traditional program forSSPU Global Partnership Week.Aiming at promoting student overseas exchanges, Program Day provides an opportunity for SSPU global partners to give study abroad fairs or lectures to SSPU students online. Three study abroad fairs were organized this year. RWTH Aachen University (RWTH), Germany, Kristianstad University (HKR), Sweden, and Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano (NABA), Italy, held study abroad fairs respectively to SSPU students from School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Control Engineering, School of Computer and Information Engineering, and School of Applied Arts and Design, covering over 200 students in total. The events have achieved good results with the students’ active interaction.

As a new program in this year’s Global Partnership Week, the events of Academic Salon were organized by SSPU colleges and schools, including online international conferences, academic seminars and lectures, etc. Experts and professors from SSPU global partners and other domestic and overseasexperts and scholars in certain academic fields were invited. Academic exchanges are thus enhanced and cooperation is broadened and deepened between SSPU and its partners.
Three international conferences and academic seminars were held during the Global Partnership Week, including the International Conference on Academic Research in Multinational Enterprises and Global Value Chains organized by School of Economics and Management, Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Technology and Application Seminar by School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Control Engineering andLow-Carbon Energy Materials and Systems Seminarby School of Energy and Materials. Experts and scholars from home and abroad had in-depth discussions and shared their research achievements focusing on the theme of each event.

To help teachers and students broaden their academic perspective, five academic lectures were held during the Global Partnership Week. Prof. Liao Kang from Defense Language Institute, Monterey, U.S., Prof. Wallace Chen from Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, U.S., Prof. Wang Xiangsheng from University of Louisiana at Lafayette, U.S., Mr. Wilson Ang, Executive Officer of Nanyang Institute of Management, Singapore, Valentina Dalla Costa, Master of Arts in Interior, Product and Service Design, Social Design Course Advisor Leader of NABA, Italy, respectively gave a lecture on the topicsPearl S. Buck: A Single-Handed Crusader in Changing the Chinese Image in the West,Practicing and Teaching Translation in the AI-Driven and Post-COVID era,Application of Orthogonal Polynomials in Numerical Analysis,the Cultivation of Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ability in Applied Technology University,andMade in Italy: a Journey into Italian Design History. Over 600 SSPU teachers and students attended the lectures.

Since the first SSPU Global Partnership Week held in 2014, the annually organized event has become an important platform for global cooperation and exchange. In face of the complex situation of COVID-19 pandemic, SSPU designed the programs of this year accordingly. Global Partnership Week is held in order to better promote the university’s educational concept, explore more international cooperation programs, enhance academic exchanges and build a platform for SSPU teachers and students to participate in global exchanges.
