Recently, Department of Teacher Education under the Ministry of Education (MOE) released the list of 2022 demonstrative programs of national training plan for vocational education. SSPU was among the approved institutions. It is a major breakthrough of SSPU in the targeted trainings of vocational education teachers, which shows recognition for the high quality of SSPU’s training programs and its cultivation mode designed for vocational education teachers.
Giving full play to the university’s advantages of integrating technology and education, SSPU Shanghai Vocational & Technical Teacher Education School (STES) taking a leading role, worked closely with relevant schools including School of Energy and Materials and School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Control Engineering to prepare for the program application. They designed the training modules, explored the cultivation modes for vocational education teachers and formulated featured training plans. SSPU eventually got approved a demonstrative training program for backbone teachers in the industrial field after passing experts’ review from the MOE.
The program focuses on the field of new materials and offers professional training for 50 backbone teachers for secondary or higher vocational education in this field around China. SSPU will make an appropriate training plan involving occupational standard, professional teaching criteria, standard for qualification certificate of vocational skills and advanced technologies in industries and enterprises. Through systematic and concentrated training, the educational and teaching abilities of vocational and technical teachers will be improved to benefit more.
The National Training Plan, the full name of which is the National Training Plan for Primary and Secondary School Teachers, was implemented by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance in 2010. In 2022, the MOE decided to launch the demonstrative programs of national training plan for vocational education. There are 24 subprojects under 8 programs classified in 3 categories, including training team program, teacher training, and training for presidents and party secretaries. A total of 43 institutions will undertake the projects.
