Recently, Shanghai Tryout of the Second Vocational Skills Competition of the People’s Republic of China opened. The competition, themed by “New Era, New Skill, New Dream”, consists of 49 competing events. It is a preparation contest for the SecondVocational Skills Competition of the PRC and the 47th World Skills Competition. As the training base of Robot System Integration Event for contestants in Shanghai and technical support institution, SSPU organized the competingeventof the Shanghai tryout from Sept. 23 to Sept. 25.
Li Ruifeng, a national chief referee and professor of State Key Laboratory of Robotics and System of Harbin Institute of Technology, was invited to serve as the competition manager, presiding over the referee work on site. He made detailed technical comments on the competition process, and put forward valuable suggestions on improving the overall skills of Shanghai candidates and training methods adopted by the Base.
The robot system integration event requires to integrate (assemble) the industrial robot, controller, sensor and other modules into the whole system and complete the process of testing and running according to the requirements of the task. The contestants shall have the technical abilities of mechanical system design, control system design, operation and programming of multi-joint robots. They should complete the tasks such as electrical connection between robots and power and other automation systems, integration of peripheral equipment, system programming, documentation, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. 38 contestants from universities, secondary and higher vocational schools participated in the competition. The contestants with excellent results in this competition will form a Shanghai training team and prepare for the national competition.
