On Sept. 18, delegation ofUniversity of Genoa (UniGe)led by Rector Federico Delfino visited SSPU. Thedelegation also included Paola Laiolo, Engineer in Sustainability Project,Fulvio Mastrogiovanni,Professor of Robotics and AI, and Kathy Huangfu, DeputyGeneral Manager of Shanghai Creative City Technology Development Co. Ltd. SSPUPresident Xie Huaqing and Vice President Ding Li met with the guests at theAcademic Exchange Center.

President Xie firstly welcomed the delegation. He spoke highly of UniGe’soutstanding achievements in talent training, scientific research, socialservice, innovative ecology, etc. He said the two sides have laid a solidcooperative foundation based on previous in-depth conversations. The Presidentexpressed that SSPU is willing to deepen and expand the cooperation between thetwo universities by keeping pushing forward the joint education programMechanical Engineering and hoped both sides carry out cooperation in morefields at multiple levels including Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. joint education,joint labs and platforms, teacher mobility and so on.

Rector Federico Delfinoexpressed gratitude to SSPU’s hospitality. He introduced the basic informationof UniGe and the advantages and achievements in teaching, scientific research,etc. He said that the two universities have many similarities in disciplinesand programs, and UniGe would like to carry out cooperation in various fieldswith SSPU. He believed that the joint efforts would gain fruitful results.

SSPU Vice President Ding Lireviewed the previous exchange and cooperation of the two universities,introduced the main projects conducted and reported the progress of the ongoingcooperation.

Both sides had a discussionand reached consensuses on the joint education program Mechanical Engineering,joint lab, industry-education-research cooperation, joint education ofundergraduates, master and doctoral students, teacher and student mobility,joint research, etc.

During the visit, RectorFederico Delfino delivered a report to SSPU teachers and students at thelecture hall in SSPU Library. He introduced UniGe’s general information,advantage disciplines and the frontier studies in scientific researches, showingthe strong ability of UniGe in terms of teaching and research. The delegation alsovisited some teaching and research areas like Smart Manufacturing Factory Laband Engineering Training and Innovation Education Center.

Heads and representatives fromSSPU International Office, Research Administration Office, School ofIntelligent Manufacturing and Control Engineering, School of Resources andEnvironmental Engineering, School of Energy and Materials, School of Economicsand Management and Vocational & Technical Teacher Education School attendedthe above activities.
