Established in September 2017, SSPU and Drexel University (USA) jointly established the Research Center for Optoelectronics and Sensing. The Research Center mainly focuses on the researches in luminescent materials based on perovskite nanocrystals and their composite films, which are applied in areas such as white LEDs and back light of display, etc.
Relying on the resources of SSPU School of Energy and Material and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of Drexel University, the Center has brought together more than 10 scholars, including Fellows of the National Academy of Inventors, Oriental Scholars of Shanghai, Pujiang Scholars, Yangfan Scholars, etc. With the foothold of cutting-edge advancements as well as major national needs in photoelectric detection and sensing integration technology, the Research Center adheres to the development philosophy of building a solid theoretical foundation and emphasizing practical application”.
It devotes itself to establishing an open and shared research platform for photoelectric detection and sensing integration technology. The Center mainly engages in the fundamental and applied research in the field of photoelectric detection and sensing integration technology. The primarily focuses on the research covers three key areas including novel photoelectric materials and sensing mechanisms, design and preparation technology of photoelectric sensing/detection devices, and photoelectric information processing coupled with sensing/detection integrated systems. The particular focus is placed on scientific research and commercialization in two specialized directions as micro/nano toxic and hazardous gas sensors and integrated systems, and electrochemical sensing systems. Leveraging national, local, and industrial research tasks and supported by high-level research teams and platform development, the Research Center has achieved a series of internationally advanced scientific research outcomes, with the publication of over 70 papers and more than 20 patent applications.
