Established in 2018, the Sino-German Joint Laboratory on WEEE Recycling of SSPU is dedicated to the extraction technologies of rare and precious metals from electronic waste, and developing joint and highly efficient leaching and extraction processes. The primary study fields are: (1) Reverse dissociation methods for precious metal layers; (2) Selection of green selective leaching systems and intensified leaching processes; (3) Novel extraction and separation systems and processes; (4) Highly efficient and selective electrodeposition technologies. At present, the Lab actively engages in in-depth collaboration with Techprotect from Germany, focusing on the pyrometallurgical smelting and chemical refining of precious metals from waste mobile phone circuit boards, to provide green solutions for the sustainable development strategy.
