Shanghai Collaborative Innovation Center for WEEE Recycling and BHS Corrugated Machinery (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly promote the industrialization of domestic process equipment for the resource recovery of retired power batteries. The Joint Laboratory of Small WEEE and Lithium Battery Recycling of SSPU was jointly planned and constructed in 2019, which is dedicated to the researches on resource recovery and value-added utilization technologies for spent lithium-ion power batteries. On the basis of friendly negotiations and the principle of complementary strengths, the Laboratory has established and improved platforms for material recycling and preparation, structural characterization, and performance testing in both China and Germany. The research and industry-university collaboration applications of the Laboratory primarily focus on pretreatment and resource recovery technologies for spent power batteries, preparation and theoretical computation of battery materials, etc.
