On the morning of May 8, Renata Paola Dameri, Vice Rector for International Relations of the University of Genoa (UniGe), Italy, paid a visit to SSPU. Liu Yan, Deputy Secretary of SSPU Party Committee, met with the guest at the Academic Exchange Center. The two sides held in-depth discussions on future international cooperation. Heads and faculty members from International Office, School of Energy and Materials, and School of Economics and Management attended the meeting.
Liu Yan first extended a warm welcome to Vice Rector Renata Paola Dameri. She stated that since the two universities signed the Memorandum of Understanding in 2022, fruitful results have been achieved in the joint establishment of laboratories, faculty exchange, joint education, etc. The official signing of the cooperation agreement for SSPU-UniGe Joint Laboratory on Intelligent Energy this March has opened a new chapter in the friendly cooperation between the two sides. UniGe’s outstanding performance in international cooperation is highly commendable, highlighting its remarkable achievements gained in the EU Erasmus+ Programs. Liu hoped that the two sides would continue to consolidate existing cooperation, expand collaborative areas and deepen cooperation connotations, and strive to make new breakthroughs in more fields.
Vice Rector Dameri expressed her gratitude to SSPU for the warm reception and briefly introduced the international exchange layout of UniGe as well as the basic information of the EU Erasmus+ Programs. She noted that SSPU is an important partner of UniGe, and the two universities have maintained close and friendly exchanges for a long time with a solid foundation for cooperation. She looked forward to continuing to deepen close cooperation and working together in various fields with SSPU.
The two sides fully discussed issues including the EU Erasmus+ Program, Sino-foreign cooperative education, the construction of SSPU-UniGe Joint Laboratory on Intelligent Energy and the Joint Research Lab on New Robots Generation for the Industry, the cooperation in the field of economics and management, student mobility, and joint scientific research, and reached consensus on the implementation timetables and action plans for various cooperation projects in the next stage.
During the visit, Vice Rector Dameri took a campus tour to the university's teaching and research platforms such as the Intelligent Manufacturing Factory Laboratory and the School of Art and Design, and had in-depth communications with heads and professional teachers of relevant departments, gaining a more comprehensive understanding of SSPU's school-running characteristics and development.
