On October 14, Philip Steenkamp, President of Royal Roads University (RRU), Canada, led a delegation to visit SSPU. President Xie Huaqing met with the delegation.
Xie Huaqing welcomed the delegation and introduced SSPU’s development profile and educational positioning to the guests. He also invited colleagues from RRU to attend SSPU Global Partnership Week next year. Philip Steenkamp introduced the history and distinctive development of Royal Roads University, shared the university’s achievements in interactive teaching, research collaboration and university-industry cooperation, and noted that the university has rich experience in cooperating with Chinese higher education institutions. He expressed the hope to establish formal cooperative relations with SSPU and to continue carrying out in-depth cooperation in faculty and student training and exchange and joint research.
At the meeting, the two universities signed the Memorandum of Understanding and conducted in-depth discussions on student mobility, faculty training and exchange, joint research, and cooperative education.
Before the meeting, the delegation also took a campus tour to the university’s Smart Manufacturing Factory Lab and Exhibition Hall of the School of Art and Design, giving high praise to SSPU’s practical teaching and educational achievements. Heads of relevant department and schools attended the meeting as well.
