On May 12, National English Competition for College Students (NECCS) was held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Four students respectively won first prizes of postgraduate group, English major group, undergraduate group (non-English major) and junior college and art group.

Approved by Ministry of Education, NECCS is jointly hosted by the National Foreign Language Teaching Advisory Board and the Association of Foreign Language Teaching in Higher Education. It is the only high-quality national competition testing the comprehensive English proficiency of college students. The competition is made up of written examination and oral test.
