SSPU Wins National First Prize in Big Data Challenge of 2024 China Collegiate Computing Contest

On August 25, the Final of Big Data Challenge of 2024 China Collegiate Computing Contest was successfully concluded in Ordos, Inner Mongolia. SSPU team composed of students Zhou Wenqian, Pan Ruijun and Chen Kai from School of Computer and Information Engineering stood out from 1,777 teams from 386 universities and won the First Prize in the Final of the competition under the guidance of teachers Wang Jiahui and Meng Xiankai.


Big Data Challenge is a high-end algorithm competition jointly organized by the Teaching Guidance Committee for Computer Related Majors in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, the Teaching Guidance Committee for Software Engineering in Higher Education Institutions of the MOE, the Teaching Guidance Committee for Computer Courses in Universities in Higher Education Institutions of the MOE, and Computer Education Research Association of Chinese Universities. Competitors were required to forecast wind speeds and temperatures for the next 72 hours at 71 stations by utilizing the meteorological data provided by the organizers. Real-time dynamic rankings were updated according to the accuracy of the predictions.
